The Naropa Fellows organized a clean up drive along the Choglamsar-Spituk road, covering a distance of 2 Kms from Choglamsar village to Agling bridge in collaboration with the Nambadar, Sarpanch and residents of Choglamsar village today (Sept 22). Garbage trucks from Leh Municipality picked up the trash collected at 4 different check points. Over 10,000 Kgs of wastes were collected.
This clean up drive also led to a new rule being passed by the ChoglamsarPanchayat prohibiting throwing of garbage and washing cars along the Choglamsar-Spituk road with violaters to be penalized a fine of Rs.10,000.
