The Naropa Fellowship hosted an interaction with AnkurWarikoo, co-founder and former CEO of nearbuy.com nearbuy on 18th February, 2020. Ankur was the Regional Head of Groupon APAC Emerging Markets, overlooking India, Indonesia, Thailand and the Philippines before he became the CEO of Groupon India. He also co-founded Accentium Web and was a venture partner at Rocket Internet GmbH, and had worked as a consultant with A.T. Kearney. He completed his graduation from Hindu College, Delhi, and MBA from the Indian School of Business (ISB), Hyderabad. He also holds an MS in Astronomy & Astrophysics from the Michigan State University.
Ankur shared his life journey with our Fellows, bringing key insights to the fore. Discussing his own unsuccessful ventures, he pointed out mistakes most entrepreneurs make in the beginning of their journey and gave tips to tackle the same. He talked about inculcating simple habits that can make a huge difference in professional lives and brought in a new perspective about living life without a plan. Focusing on our Fellows' LAPs, he insisted on staying grounded and understanding customers and markets better before taking a plunge into the venture.
