On 1st and 2nd September 2018, the inaugural class of the Naropa Fellowship (Class of 2019) arrived on campus to begin the groundbreaking academic program that empowers the next generation of social entrepreneurs and leaders. Facilitated by elite programme team members and staff, the program led off with a formal welcome and introduction on site at Hemis, Ladakh. Jesleen Lalmuanawmi, Associate Director of the programme, began by sharing the vision, objectives and goals of the Naropa Fellowship, followed by introductions from the team members and Fellows. The Naropa Fellows of Class of 2019 were selected from a highly competitive pool of applicants, and the group is comprised of young talents from diverse academic and geographic backgrounds from across the Himalayas and India. They will begin pre-term classes to refresh on and establish basic concepts in language, communications, accounting and others from 3rd September 2018 until 15th September 2018, officially kicking off the academic portion of the Fellowship’s curriculum.
